We face a new type of addiction
The videoconference “Desomorphine-Free Advanced Regions. The Unique Experience of Four Subjects of the Russian Federation” connected the subjects in which prescription drugs of codeine-containing drugs have already been introduced – Kazan, Belgorod, Kaluga, Lipetsk and Moscow. The heads of regions insist on the introduction of a widespread ban on over-the-counter dispensing of codeine-containing medicines dispensed from pharmacies, not from June 1, 2012, but from the beginning of next year.
There is no region in Russia that would not be affected by the problem of desomorphine addiction. The low price of the drug, the ability to make it at home from codeine-containing drugs dispensed from pharmacies without a prescription, make it available. Desomorphine is a dangerous synthetic drug with high toxicity and a significant risk of overdose. It causes rapid addiction, its constant use in a very short time leads to death. How much does prostate cancer cost?
The costs of treating cancer usually exceed insurance coverage … So: the economic burden of prostate cancer alone in Russia amounted to 3.7 billion rubles a year. These and other important data were the result of a study conducted by the Research Institute of Clinical and Economic Expertise and Pharmaceutical Economics of the Russian National Research Medical University named after Pirogov.
Prostate cancer (PCa) is one of the most commonly diagnosed oncological diseases in the male population of Russia. Over the past ten years, there has been an increase in the incidence and mortality rates from this disease. So, prostate cancer ranks third (11% of the total) in the structure of the primary incidence of malignant neoplasms. In the period from 2000 to 2010. a high rate of increase in the incidence of prostate cancer was noted – an average of 9.83% per year. According to 2010 data, there is a continuation of the growth trend in mortality rates from prostate cancer – compared with 2009, mortality from prostate cancer increased by 2.1%. Continue reading
Why do our joints creak

Contractures result from illness or after injuries. The most common non-traumatic diseases causing contractures are age-related ailments: arthritis and arthrosis. But other diseases also lead to joint stiffness: stroke, lack of blood supply and muscle inflammation, damage to peripheral nerves, and even … hysteria.
Therefore, it is impossible to cure any persistent contracture without a diagnosis! However, in parallel with the treatment of the underlying ailment, which is always selective, there are common ways to deal with contractures. Continue reading
